First-Time Homebuyer Discovers Gold
with ‘Verandas at The Peaks’ by ASTORIA HOMES®
For even the bravest of souls, relocating to Las Vegas can be quite a challenge. But for Jill Riedmiller, who originally hails from Scranton, Penn., the lure of life in the desert was too tempting to resist. Even more so after discovering ASTORIA HOMES®’ “Verandas at The Peaks” community, situated in the booming area of Southwest Las Vegas.
“About two years ago I had a calling to move out West, and I did it all by myself,” said Riedmiller. “I love the beautiful desert landscape, which made me really want to buy my first home in Las Vegas.”
Choosing the Southwest part of the valley to reside, she took a tour of The Peaks and discovered an immediate liking of the home designs, community amenities, and the warm, friendly staff.
Riedmiller selected Model 551, an architectural beauty that includes two master bedrooms, three baths, a courtyard and patio, a full dining room that overlooks a picture window, a single-car garage and Whirlpool appliances. Community amenities include nearby playgrounds and two pools.
“I wanted something very quaint with minimal maintenance and a small yard for my shi-tzus, Ginger Plum and Wasabi,” said Riedmiller. “When I toured the model home, I just fell in love with how cute, yet spacious it was – just perfect for me.”
Riedmiller also felt that purchasing
an ENERGY STAR® home was important in more ways
than one.
“I heard about the ENERGY STAR
program from friends and they highly recommended it,” said
Riedmiller. “When I heard that it saves on electricity
bills I thought that was a plus. Also, with the type
of climate that we live in, it’s important for
homebuilders to take that extra step and include ENERGY
STAR in their homes.”
The only challenge left for Riedmiller is simply decorating her new dream home.
