California Couple Finds ‘Independence’
by ASTORIA HOMES® the Ideal Vacation Home
For Russell and Pamela Brooks, Las Vegas is a place for fun, relaxation and quality time with the family. It also serves as a home away from home for the California-based couple who maintains a vacation home in ASTORIA HOMES®’ “Independence” community in Southwest Las Vegas.
“We come out to Vegas about every two weeks, because my family lives here,” says Pamela. “We were just simply tired of living in hotels, so we made the decision to buy a house.”
On a housing expedition, Russell came upon the Independence development, situated in a convenient area with nearby shopping and dining. Immediately enchanted with the quaint community, the couple decided to call it home.
Purchasing Model 531, the home includes
three bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, spacious walk-in closets,
and a single-car garage. Community amenities include
two pools and two nearby parks with playgrounds.
“We were looking around the area, and when we saw this one, it was just such a great value compared to the other communities,” says Russell. “With the ‘100 percent home’ package, it was just the best value around at the time, and still is.”
Citing the home’s low maintenance,
architectural beauty, and Mediterranean-style surroundings
as their favorite features, the couple’s attention
was also turned towards the overall cost effectiveness
of the home. Contributing to the cost effectiveness
is ASTORIA’s
commitment to building ENERGY STAR® certified
homes, which promotes energy-efficient products and
practices.
“It’s a very well-built house, highly insulated and pressurized,” says Russell. “In the end it saves money and the environment. We really appreciate the cost savings.”
The Brooks found their entire home buying process a smooth experience, crediting Sales Representative Linda Torres for facilitating the process. Impressed by her personable nature, the couple was immediately set at ease, “She was warm, friendly and remembered our names. How often do you find that?”
