Young Family and First-Time Homebuyers Make Their Nest

While looking for a new home to share with his wife Trisha, 23, and newborn daughter Laila, location was everything for 24-year-old Caleb Adcock. Adcock, an accountant who hikes in his spare time, wanted to be close to the trails of Red Rock Canyon and away from the commonly found commotion of Las Vegas. The Adcocks found peace and solace for their family at Astoria Homes’ Hillside community.

“The location was the biggest selling point for us, followed by the price,” said Adcock, a first-time homebuyer. “It is outside of the hustle and bustle of Las Vegas in a young neighborhood and near Red Rock.”

The Adcocks discovered Hillside through a family friend, who also purchased a home in the community. “Being in a brand new community so close to Red Rock and Summerlin is very exciting for us,” said Adcock.

The Adcocks chose Residence 611, a two-story masterpiece that features three bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a loft and two-car garage. At 1,658 square feet, the home is a perfect size for the young family.

“We liked the open layout of the kitchen, dining and living rooms,” said Adcock. “The utilization of the square footage was very attractive.”
